About the studio
After years of DIY wherewithal, John Dwyer & Eric Bauer sat down to discuss joining forces and opening a professional recording studio in Los Angeles. And now that pipe dream is a reality. Loosely modeled on a few rooms / studios we love, we worked to bring together comfortable atmosphere and professional environment to make Discount Mirrors Studio a welcoming and fruitful creative space.
Built up from a 3000 square foot warehouse in a 100 year old building, it now has a 27′ × 23′ mix room, equal size live room, and an apartment for musicians to stay in with a full bathroom and kitchen. We’ve combined both our massive hordes of vintage gear and our own recording knowledge and experience to this project. It’s a beast and we are very much looking forward to making great things with you here.
